I’d first like to introduce myself; My name is Elaina DeFelice, I am currently a Health Science major at Monmouth University and created this blog with the intention to share my knowledge in holistic health and plant-based nutrition. I am certified in plant-based nutrition through Cornell University and because of this (as well as my personal health experiences) I was able to correlate the power of plants with recovering, healing, and strengthening the human body in its entirety.
Growing up, my immune system was never the greatest. However It wasn’t until high school that I truly realized it. I began to feel sick on a daily basis. I was experiencing a multitude of symptoms including severe brain fog, debilitating fatigue, dizziness, developing asthma overnight, heart palpitations, digestive issues, and body/joint pain to name a few. I went from doctor to doctor without any true resolution. Although I was tested positive for Lyme Disease, severe inflammation, autoimmune conditions, EBV (mono), food allergies, and more I was either given no answers or was prescribed several harmful medications, which lead to the sharp decline of my health. My inflammation levels skyrocketed. I was experiencing full body skin rashes and skin issues, chronic pain, debilitating digestive issues, and I was so depressed because of this. I began to seek out alternative solutions.
I began researching all things related to health and how to heal. I discovered that a plant-based diet, herbal remedies, and natural healing methods could help one heal from chronic illness without the harmful side effects. I decided to go completely vegan. I strictly cut out all meat/animal products, while also maintaining a strict gluten-free diet. I also came across several world-renowned holistic health practitioners and healers, one of which was Anthony William the Medical Medium. At first, I was skeptical of his “claims”, as he does not have a true medical background. However, after discovering that thousands of people have healed because of his advice, (and after trying every detox therapy/taking 20+ supplements daily with no luck), I was willing to give his protocol a try. His method of healing is mainly through food and adopting a plant-based diet. He also emphasizes the importance of addressing the spiritual/emotional body, and taking herbs and supplements to support the body and give it the tools it needs to heal.
After implementing the information found in his books, I began to see a gradual improvement in my health. My pain disappeared, my asthma went away, my heart was no longer palpitating, my brain fog alleviated, my digestive issues improved, and so on. Over the course of 2 years, and continuously following his advice/protocols, I have fully healed myself and would like to share what I have learned to help others heal as well.
Healing is definitely not linear. It is a long and bumpy road, but I am here to help educate and empower others to reclaim their health through food and natural healing modalities.
